A few weeks ago, I was sitting in my sweet minivan with my wife and daughter, on our way to our very first gathering with members of the Cohousing ABQ community. We’d driven in from Kansas City the day before. As many introverts will understand, the whole thing seemed like a super fun idea at first. We’re sharing this personal account from a member of Cohousing ABQ because many people assume cohousing is designed mainly for extroverts.

Her experience shows how planned activities, smaller gatherings, private homes, and the freedom to opt out can make social connection more manageable, not less.

Newark Area Cohousing is bringing together people with different personalities, routines, and social needs. Community does not have to mean constant socializing. It means connection is nearby when you want or need it.
